Leisure and free time instructor course in Valencia

The Valencian Community offers a wide variety of courses for leisure and free time instructors . On this occasion, the course will focus on the training and training of monitors, so that they are prepared to carry out their duties in the field of leisure and free time.

The course is aimed at all those young people who are interested in working in the field of leisure and free time, and who meet the requirements established in the Regulations of the Youth Law of the Valencian Community.

The course will consist of 40 hours divided into 4 modules, in which topics such as the organization of activities , program design , safety and health at work with minors , among others, will be addressed.

To be a free time monitor, you must be at least 18 years of age. However, the ideal profile of a free time monitor should be that of a dynamic, creative, responsible person and above all, who likes to be in contact with children and young people.

In most cases, a minimum Baccalaureate degree will be required, although it would be desirable for the free-time monitor to have specific training in Social Education, Pedagogy or Teaching. Likewise, the free time monitor must pass a series of selection tests, both theoretical and practical.

Regarding the tasks to be carried out, the free time monitor must ensure the correct development of the activities in the space in which they work, as well as the well-being of the children and young people in their care. Likewise, they must coordinate the activities of the minor monitors, if any, and be in constant contact with the children's parents or guardians to inform them of the activities carried out in the center.
