To be a porter in Spain, the title of Superior Technician in Sanitary Emergencies is required . This can be obtained at any of the Nursing Schools authorized by the Ministry of Health to teach the corresponding higher grade training cycle. However, at present, access to this higher level training cycle requires, at least, having passed the Higher Level Training Cycle Access Test (PAF) (formerly known as Selectividad).
Once the PAF has been passed, the student can enroll in the higher level training cycle of Higher Technician in Sanitary Emergencies in any of the Nursing Schools authorized to teach it. The higher level training cycle of Higher Technician in Sanitary Emergencies lasts 2 years (4 semesters) and is divided into modules .
The modules that make up the higher level training cycle for Higher Technician in Health Emergencies are the following:
- Module 1: Fire Prevention and Extinction Techniques.
- Module 2: Rescue and Rescue Techniques.
- Module 3: First Aid and CPR Techniques.
- Module 4: Decontamination Techniques.
- Module 5: Emergency Management Techniques.
The Title of Superior Technician in Sanitary Emergencies grants the right to take the Entrance Exam to the School of Firefighters . To pass this exam, the applicant must obtain a minimum score of 5 points in each of the Knowledge Tests (theoretical) and a minimum score of 5 points in the Physical Fitness Test (physical).
